Kinesiology represents the study of efficient movement, aiming to improve every day function and decrease pain. Kinesiologists contribute a vital role in injury rehabilitation, offering individualized exercise therapy. A Kinesiologist's exercise prescription is drawn from their education in areas such as exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, pathophysiology, and injury rehabilitation. Reputable programming is developed from evidence-based education and through the collaboration of an interdisciplinary clinical setting. They work with a large variety of the population, including athletes, older adults, those with chronic diseases, and pre/post-surgical intervention patients. Some Kinesiologists also go on to add more training in soft tissue release, Kim and Steph both have this training.
